The mission of The City of the Children of Matamoros A.C. is to transform the lives of orphaned, abandoned and disadvantaged children by providing a safe, secure, healthy, and nurturing environment filled with unconditional love. In addition, it is our mission to provide educational and training opportunities, which will afford these children a chance to become independent adults, and enable them to grow into caring and productive members of their communities who give back to those in need.
The City of Children of Matamoros A.C. is a non-profit organization designed to function in perpetuity. All members of the board are volunteers and receive no compensation for their involvement on the board. The board operates from bylaws that clearly define organizational parameters and ensures that all donations and resources are specifically earmarked for the support of abandoned children. The board is deigned to have a broad representation of community leaders, educators, businesses, religion, service organizations, and community representatives from Mexico and the United States, to serve with the one common purpose of helping others in need.
Our primary services are to operate a loving group home for orphaned, abandoned and disadvantaged children, and to provide them with food, shelter, safety, security, education, vocational skills, high values, spirituality, and the means to be able to become productive and contributing citizens in their respective community. We also offer many programs to help support the educational needs of the children. We believe in offering skill training in critical areas that will best equip the children for a successful future. The following are a few of the key training programs that are available at the orphanage.
